Bitchin’ Amazon releases for Feb 28th

Let’s do this! Support Laser Time and win a $20 Amazon Gift Certificate? If you’re not saying “Fuck yeah!” you’re probably not alive!

BASK IN THE CONSUMERIFFIC WONDERMENT! Or, you can just click through and buy whatever the fuck you were going to already and kick back a couple of farthings in support of Laser Time. In exchange for once again enduring my stream of consciousness, highly uninformative ramblings, let’s also give away a $20 Amazon Gift Certificate just for commenting below, shall we?

Hugo
A pretty great movie. Oh, did you expect something more bolder and less wishy-washy?! Well, my bad! I only saw the movie recently, and was quite befuddled by the first half. “Did Marty Scorcese really make a half assed kids movie?!” But then – BOOM! – the film explodes into his most personal output yet! And something I honestly consider a little deceptive. This ain’t no kids movie! There’s just no blood tits, or swearing, but I can’t really imagine the tots give two shits about silent movi restoration. Whatever! It’s without a doubt  the only movie I’d ever say that EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE IN 3D, which is the only reason I’m linking to the premium Blu. Perhaps it’s because I come from a film background (*extends pinky*) with a familiarity with the Hugo’s actual main, non-Hugo character, but this film has one of the most moving endings I’ve ever witnessed. And unfortunately, you really have to see it wearing a stupid set of glasses to get the full effect.

SSX  360  |  PS3
Tricky? Yeah, it’s pretty much time for that. Finally, a triumphant return to one of the greatest series the PS2 ever forged! Other than the heart-drawing SSX Blur, there is not a single entry in the series I haven’t rocked to complete death. I fucking love SSX! That said, I tried out the demo while a little on the wasted side, and had a hard time getting back in the swing of things. Could’ve been the midnight boozery, sure, but either wat I’m actually a little excited that there’s a slightly new and unfamiliar mechanic to learn, such as the incorporated wingsuit, because the lack of innovative ideas is essentially why we have had a tragic five-year drought in the SSX Legacy.

PokePark 2: Wonders Beyond
Very strange for me to see a sequel to a Pokemanz game I never knew existed, but here we are! I could’ve bothered to report what this actually is but you’re either a Wii-lovin’ baby incapable of supporting Laser Time through purchasing through Amazon, or a diehard Pokefan who doesn’t give a fuck what I have to say. My work here is done!

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2
I’m by no means a SMT fan – quite the opposite, actually! Nor do I have any idea what the hell Devil Survivor is. But I do know this: Hey Now Hank “HenereyG” Gilbert swears by the original entry in the series (now a coveted rarity!) so while I can’t champion this title per say, I can sure as shit champion Henry! GO HANK! And go Cape Crisis!

Justice League: Doom
OH BOY, A DC/DOCTOR DOOM CROSSOVER!!! Hold on… I’m being told that’s not what this is at all. A direct-to-DVD, animated film loosely based on the Mark Waid’s Tower of Babel story arc and an indirect sequel to Crisis on Two Earths? Why the fuck isn’t Hank writing this up, anyway? Speaking of which… is this the kind of thing you’d be interested in hearing on Cape Crisis? (A HulkDick.com Production!)

HyperDimension Neptunia: Mk2
I’m not sure if you remember Elston and I marveling at this Japanese oddity back in our GamesRadar days, but this is fucking thing is weird. Yes, even for a JRPG!  Basically, the sultry ladies represent past and current faction of the console war. I wish I could explain it better, but you can watch the commentary we did on the first game and to see more of the titillating weirdness that strangely validated our entire existence.

Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition  360  |  PS3
Thank you, Ed Boon, for always ensuing that no matter what happens they’ll always be a red zig-zaggy line underneath everything I write. And for once it won’t be my fault – this shit is a CILLER COLLEKTION! Wait… Ah, FUCK! Whatever, if you don’t own all Mortal Kombat already, or all the DLC, GET OVER HERE!

  1. I will never forget the warm memories I have of playing SSX Tricky with my dad and sister. Them fighting over who got to pick Mac as I picked Psymon (I think that’s the correct spelling). Passing controllers around replaying the same levels over and over again to beat our high scores. That game is responsible for some of my fondest memories bak when I was in middle school. I can’t wait to get my hands on this new one and relive it.

  2. i’d love to get those cars to use them on my kid icarus uprising online battles

  3. There’s going to be a Devil Survivor 2? I had no idea.
Also, I hope Hyper Dimension Neptunia 2 is better than the first one.
It was such a good concept bogged down by, well, the game as a whole.

  4. Saw a quick look of SSx and it looks like a good that I could play for a week or two. But ME3 is going to ruin my free time. Female Shepard, the only way to play

  5. Those DC animated features have been consistently ranging from “above-average” to “downright awesome.” I’m looking forward to Doom quite a bit.

  6. I loved Hugo about as much as I loved The Artist. And I’ll even admit that I didn’t mind the first half. It certainly wasn’t as interesting as second half (concerning Geroge Melies), but the beautiful cinematography and set design, as well as the wonderful Howard Shore score kept me interested all the way through. That being said, once the kids fixed that robot I instantly fell in love with the film. If you’ve seen the movie you know what I’m talking about.

Also, SSX looks so fucking awesome I came a little during the trailer.
    So theres that.

  7. I looooove me some SMT. cant wait to pick up devil survivor next weekend, im still playing through the first on my third playthrough.
