CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THIS! (Can you believe that kind of excitement can’t even get me in the theater to see stuff I like?) Seen Crank and Crank 2? No, well go do so now, because no words I could spin here could convince you of the face-meltingly ludicrous potential of tossing Nicholas “The Acting Tornado” Cage to anything-for-the-awesome directors like Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor more than seeing what they can do with prosumer cameras and Jason Statham.
Lollipop Chainsaw 360 | PS3
I’ve liked everything I’ve seen of this one. It played fun, it’s visually striking (to say the least) but man… was I heartbroken to find out that Hank didn’t love it anywhere near as much as either of us were expecting to. Originally, I thought it was quite smart to launch a new, untested IP at a $45 price point, although now it seems to be in accordance with being somewhat underwhelming and light on content. Suda51 fans are truly sad pandas this week 🙁
Gravity Rush
Probably the best reason out there to own a PSVita. A gorgeous, wholly original IP that utlitizes every single wizz-bang tucked inside Sony’s handheld’s guts? This is it:
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
Okay, for many of you, THIS will be the reason to get a Vita. Although, like the Silent Hill Collection, I really wish it would’ve included the first game. You know… THE ONE THAT STARTED IT ALL?! Either way, it’s hard to complain two phenomenal, remastered PS2 games for a price that’s more than fair.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Thrones- I mean, SHADOWS
I suppose I should choose my words carefully here, since a bunch of you took issue with me calling these films “a waste of time” when compared to the BBC show Sherlock. I haven’t seen this movie, but… but… oh, I’m pretty sure I’m still 100% correct. WATCH SHERLOCK INSTEAD
Dirt Showdown 360 | PS3
Hey, this came out! Before I could even get into the third game, crap! The $39.99 price is alluring to say the least…
Spider-man
“With great marketing, comes greater visibility.” That’s how the old adage goes, right?! Just in time for The Amazing Spider-Man’s movie theater onslaught, Sony’s re-releasing the first Spidey trilogy on Blu-ray. Doesn’t look as if they’re adding much as far as new features, other than an Ultraviolet Digi-copy, but you can get all three for just over $30. I honestly don’t know how I feel about the Raimi trilogy, but I’m kinda hankering to revisit them and the price here is a good incentive.
Superman vs. The Elite
Another great edition in DC’s animated stable. No idea, but I just started to dig into Justice League Elite, which coincidentally, is totally on sale over on Comixology! You’re gonna have to act fast to take advantage of that deal, folks.
The Dark Crystal / Labyrinth
You’ve heard the show, right? Do I really have to tell you how amazing these two visionary flicks are sgsin? Trust me- NAY! Trust JIM HENSON. The only thing new about this bundle is the rather phenomenal collectible box art by Brian Froud, but at $10 for each in HD it’s a damn good price.
Shallow Grave
Ya know… Danny Boyle might be one of the greatest directors of our time. From Trainspotting to Slumdog Millionaire, each and every movie he makes is just as memorable as they are completely distinct in tone, subject matter, and even genre, usually. His theatrical debut, and first time collaboration with Ewan McGregor, is no exception and a fantastically nasty tale of friends and money. Criterion’s done it right, as usual, along with brand new High-Def releases for Harold and Maude and The Gold Rush this week.

CAPE CRISIS RECOMMENDS:
THE BEES! NOT THE BEES!! YOU BITCHES! NOT THE BEEEEES!!!
I am gift card and so can you!
Well, even though Henry didn’t like it (6 is decent on GR), I’m having a blast playing Lollipop Chainsaw. I guess I’m having too much fun on the constant swearing and violence that I can look past the flaws. Plus unlike Shadows of the Damned (a game I played 3 times), LC has some replay value which is very nice.
Also, l would like to thank LaserTime for linking the Amazon page for the pre-order of Lollipop Chainsaw when it was $45. It is most definitely worth more than 45 dollars.
Lollipop chainsaw is crazy but combat pleateaus and never evolves from it’s first appearance. Also magical quotes like “LET ME FUCK YOUR FATHER!” or “TEN HUT , TEN BUTT FUCK”
That Stan Lee Spider-Man pre-order looks hilarious. Definitely wanna check that out.
I really wish Suda 51 would go back to making weird offputting abstract games like Killer 7 and stop making weird offputting pandering games like LC.
Hey, Im Commenter, am I lucky?
I am so split on preordering spider-man…
I’m also enjoying the hell out of Lollipop Chainsaw.
Question: If I click a link through you guys that takes me to Amazon and I don’t buy anything does that help? Just asking cause I’m broke and unemployed lol.
I didn’t pay attention to Gravity Rush for the longest time because I thought it was a futuristic racing game.
My appreciation for all things dark and disturbing began with the Skeksis. Trial by Stone!
I hope the missing MGS peacewalker from the HD collwction will be available at the store.
*double takes* THERE’S A DOUBLE PACK OF DARK CRYSTAL AND LABYRINTH ON BLU-RAY??? Thank you, Laser Time, for bringing me this wonderful, euphoric enlightenment! *buys now*
I still likey Lollipop for what it is and what I love about games.
I was equally disappointed about GR’s review but decided to try it anyway and am enjoying it enough. Antista I thought you should know there is a quick reference to Chip and Dale (along with a million other things) in the dialogue.
This is archnite reporting from the intertbutt back to you Mark.
Why do the Spider-Man Blu-ray rereleases have such bland and terrible box art?
Lollipop Chainsaw makes me sad..
Still want to try it out sometime, along with Shadows of the Damned and No More Heroes.. and every other Grasshopper game
