Men in Black 3
Yeah, Men in Black 3 isn’t technically out until November 30th, but I just KNOW you will all want to hop on this Blu-ray early. Aging Will Smith goes back in time and meets Josh Brolin. Whaaaat? I know, right? Crazy. Oh, and there are aliens and the fate of the planet is at stake and all this other stuff happens. Mostly the movie is just about how Smith is old. I think. That’s all I could pay attention to.

Lawless
Movies about old-timey gangsters are my jam. So is Tom Hardy. Shia LaBeouf still gets on my nerves but annoyances aside he did a fine job in this film. Lawless is about two of America’s most famou bootlegger brothers during the Prohibition era AND Guy Pearce plays a semi-crazy fed. What’s not to love?

ParaNorman
No one would go see ParaNorman with me when it was in theaters so obviously I’m gonna check it out on Blu-ray. I’m a sucker for animated movies and those shitty paranormal investigator shows on TV. Of course I would want to watch a movie about a boy who sees dead people. It’s like… A cute version of The Sixth Sense.

Grave of the Fireflies
Wanna spend your holidays weeping like a damn toddler? Sure you do. I don’t cry, but Grave of the Fireflies made me wibbly. Get ready to grab some tissues because this is perhaps one of the saddest animated movies I’ve ever seen. Plus, Studio Ghibli worked on it.

Step Up Revolution
It’s okay. I won’t tell anyone about your secret love of dance. It’s my secret love too. It has nothing to do with the fact that in every single one of these movies there’s a scene where for some reason these incredibly in-shape individuals are dancing in the rain or under broken fire sprinklers or whatever. Their clothes get all wet and tight….. But I swear I only watch the Step Up movies because I appreciate the dancers’ craft. Also the acting is just wonderful. A+

Ratchet  & Clank: Full Frontal Assault
Other than a few downloadables there isn’t much coming out this week. To get you a little more excited for the ONE game that is coming out, for $19.99 you’ll get the PS3 version of Full Frontal Assault as well as  a download for the Vita version. What a steal! Right? Right.

  1. SHIT! I just did a couple hundred dollars worth of Christmas shopping on Amazon over the weekend and forgot to do it through you guys. To make up for it I’ll buy a shirt and directly donate a bit of money. Considering how long I’ve been getting free entertainment from you it’s the least I can do anyway.

  2. Lawless sounds cool, glad it has the Laser Time Seal of Quality backing that up. Guess I should hop over and see if any dead tree edition comics catch my eye.

  3. Not much for me, already bought PS All Stars 😀

So seriously, is anything being done to ban and remove the spammers in the forums? It hurts my soul to see it.

  4. I’m most excited about the new English dub for grave of the fireflies, i hated the sound of the young girl, if all they changed was her I’d be satisfied.

  5. Paranorman is a decent flick. They really do some super creative stuff in it, especially toward the end. But it’s humor is way younger then a lot of the subject matter in here so it ends up feeling confused.
Still the best movie on this list though.

  6. Really liked ParaNorman, was surprised! Men in Black 3 was also better than I expected. Might have to add both to my Xmas list!

  7. We just got the X-rays back. He mostly got served here, and here, but the worst serving was here in the pelvic region. The road to recovery will be a long one.

  8. I thought Paranorman was pretty good, not as good as Coraline but still fun… but found out that its core theme of bullying and prejudice really spoke to me, and I’ve not been able to stop thinking about it since it came out several months ago. That’s the sign of a great film.

  9. Aw man… Grave of the Fireflies… I haven’t seen it yet, but my roomate is planning an event around showing it to me and my friends… she’s describing it as “sadistic torture”
