*NOTE* We’ve been getting some AMAZING donations lately but hardly anyone is attaching a name and the intended recipient of said donations. Please try to make note of which podcast the donation is going to so maybe we can get some new equipment and thank the right people for all their support.

  1. QOTW: More full frontal male nudity dammit!
And corn! You can never have too much corn

    1. But what I really want is more diversity in mainstream games. I’m not just talking about more protagonists that look like me, I’m talking about diversity of settings, of characters, of stories most of all. This industry can do so much better than “Gruff white guy seeks revenge/saves the world / looks for something / saves his girlfriend. And why are the only time periods mainstream games explore are uninteresting dreck like the America or French Revolution? Why haven’t games tapped into the civil rights era? Or a war America wasn’t involved in? This medium has so much storytelling potential, why isn’t it being used?

  2. Saint Seiya was huge in Mexico also. In fact, it was one of the first anime franchisees to blow up in the country, before DBZ and Sailor Moon even.

  3. QOTW:

Next gen, I really hope we reach a breaking point on what graphical fidelity can be achieved, and developers actually begin work on what will actually make games better: artificial intelligences and much more detailed worlds. The more processing power that can be thrown behind rendering a living world will go far towards making games that much more immersive. Pair that with the Oculus Rift … what a future!

  4. This is quite the hard question for me, especially since I’m choosing to stick to the current gen right now, but I think out of everything I want to see is better ways to connect with my friends and my family as we play the games we like together. One way I can see this happening is with more cross play between platforms. Granted, this has happened with some games that are both on a console and on PC, but I wish that 3rd parties this next gen can have a choice to cross those boundaries if they want to. My brother has a PS3 and I have a 360, but my brother at times wishes that he could play some rounds with me online for certain 3rd party titles like Destiny and has at times come to regret his decision of buying the PS3 because everyone else has the competition. I know the chances for this kind of future are indeed slim, but one can only hope.

  5. QOTW: Large scale dynamic battles. I can actually see the Dynasty Warriors games and their spin offs benefiting more than other franchises with the increased hardware power to really up the scale, but also want more games with realistic warfare.

      1. Don’t worry, so have I! We are not alone in being able to enjoy it. Though I understand people who cannot enjoy it.

What I DON’T understand is Chris finding it ugly, cause damn, I think this game looks damn fine.

    1. …Er, this one has been the chipmunk, the raccoon followed Mikel on his vacation 😛

I suppose the insult still fits though XD (And yeah, the bastard was particularly disgruntled in this one…)

  6. I really loved this episode, great job with the top 5 too, I genuinely learned something new from it.

Chris, you’re being waayyyy too hard on yourself man, you’re acting like you can’t host a gaming podcast anymore! You hosted an AMAZING one for like, 3 and a half years, give yourself a little credit!

  7. Honestly I just want different kinds of games. I feel like there’s so many different kind of games that can be made but things have been sticking to safe material. More risks, new stuff.

  8. QOTW: I want the next generation to give us even more indie gaming with even less graphical fidelity. When I am playing my high-tech state-of-the-art bleeding edge next-gen console, I want my games to be of the same quality as if they were programmed on a Commodore 64 from four people that went to Full Sail University. I do not care what the newest version of Resident Evil, Metal Gear, Halo, or any other franchise can boast with graphics. I want to shell out hundreds of dollars to play some poetic indie 4-bit platformer with an enriching storyline that I can talk to my New Yorker reading friends at the coffee shop while admiring my iPhone 11 and adjusting my hyper-tight pants.

Also the best name for a Nintendo book title would be, “Hotels for Businessmen to Bang Mistress Chicks to Playing Bowling By Waggling Sticks: The Nintendo Story”

  9. So Hyrule Warriors was a Dynaty Warriors game and they made no bones about it. I wonder what Antista was expecting out of it? Was he not really familiar with DW or did he think that Hyrule Warriors would have been a cleaned up version of those mechanics?

  10. Love hotels are absolutely a thing in America, at least in the Midwest. I’ve always heard about the Sybaris Suites and seen commercials hinting strongly that these are places you can come to enter the bone zone complete with themed rooms and a pool in every room because what’s sexier than getting intimate with your loved one in a tub filled with the dna of every other cheating couple that came before you? Commercial on YouTube:

    1. I, too, would like to know the Nintendo music used during the breaks. Could the irate chipmunk please share where it got those remixes? Thank you.

Also, the subject matter of the podcast was great. Great work with the research.

  11. QOTW: I dont own a next gen system,so if this is already happening then please disregard this reply. I would love to play an online game while being able to see the faces of the people I’m playing with. A good example would be playing a Battlefield match and being able to see each of my squadmates faces in real time while we play. Surely would cut down on racism and duece-baggarry ocurances that ruin online experiences.
