Cape Crisis #110 Question: What’s your favorite comic book t-shirt?

  1. This is a sad thing to say, but at this point, you guys might as well just create a regular new segment called “What the INTERNET got angry about this time”. Seeing how it already has become a regular thing, might as well just make it official…

    1. I was going to suggest this as well. I’d say Cape Crisis might as well go bi-weekly or monthly considering how little comics are talked about. Just make a show called Hank’s Crapshoot or Chris’s Shitshow and be done with it.

      1. It seems silly to me, if you’ve listened to anything the guys have done from TalkRadar to now, to think that each show would just stick to its supposed premise. Everyone should know they’re going to ramble, and I like it that way. I think that’s better than having them constantly worry about being off-topic, and that makes them constantly tell us that they’re off-topic. Screw set topics, just enjoy the chatter, I say.

      2. I think you misunderstood me. I wasn’t complaining about talking about Internet outrage, I was lamenting the fact that Internet outrage has become so common lately that it has become a regular thing to discuss it.

And besides, the shows have ALWAYS been like this for better or worse. A couple of times I did complain about some of the off-topic rants, but I’ve come to just simply accept that it’s part of their charm and way of doing things. Sometimes it can be annoying, but more often than not it leads to interesting or funny tangents.

      3. Ah poo, I feel like we talked about comics plenty. More than usual even!

If you have something specific you’d like us to talk about, feel free to suggest it.

As for a “what’s making the internet angry” segment, it ain’t our fault that’s the only emotion anyone seems to understand on the web.

  2. Sorry Henry. That’s my social justice limit. I refuse to give furries the same acceptance that I give homosexuals.

If that means I have to die on that hill being the Archie Bunker for people that fuck people in pony costumes in another 20 years, then so be it.

  3. thanks Hank, for catching us up with your weight loss. an injury has really slowed me down this year, and I’ve been gaining weight because I can’t be as active. I’ll check out that Fitness Pal app and see if I can stick with it.

congrats man! 50lbs is major shit.

  4. I just came to the show from listening vga and I must say I really like it. I’m a huge fan of the super hero spotlight and as someone who only started reading comics unt he past 2-3 years I love the recommendations, I’ll read anything and I find the suggestions help me expand my coverage. Instead of reading only hulk or just batman I find myself trying everything. With that said I’ve found a few shirts for my small son with printed covers on them like Thor. Amazing spiderman. Indestructible iron man and they’re awesome. I’ve yet to find them for myself but I’m considering upgrading his room to have a comic cover mosaics song the shirts and poster and old comics that aren’t worth anything.

    1. Problly should have proof read that since I’m on my phone. Should read:

  5. Whenever Henry opens up to share a personal tale, I find it hugely compelling listening. Probably due to the clarity and honesty with which he recounts them. I for one enjoy the ‘rambling’. However long you guys want to talk, I am sure I will end up listening to all of it. Even [read: particularly] if it’s about furries.

  6. QOTW: Nothing beats the original 1989 yellow Batman symbol logo t-shirts, that were everywhere upon the films release. Side-note I also had the Keaton standing next to the batmobile poster on my bedroom door till I was 16 lol.

  7. Those shirts are awful and your shitting on them is completely justified. The only defense I can even begin to think of is that if they are for Walmart, then usually their average customer probably isn’t interested in portraying themselves as a being of reasonable intelligence.

  8. I really haven’t seen anyone defending those shirts. They are really horrible, but I think it is a wasted effort to act like their is some side of the argument arguing in favor of them.

If there was, it still isn’t even wasting your breath on.

  9. This is from a few episodes ago, but Chris, Tallahassee has at least two very good comic book shops. I’ve lived here for four years (ugh) for college and try to visit both Secret Headquarters on Monroe, and Fallout Comics on Apalachee at least once a month. Cosmic cat had always been a pretty sad shop and I didn’t even know that they closed until you told us.

Tallahassee may be a dank pit, but at least it has a few good comic book shops.
