Hey Laser Timers, Moan4Stallone here with another dose of Stallone-ism. Did you know Sylvester Stallone can be linked to plenty of Hollywood’s biggest and brightest stars? Well he can. So let’s play everyone’s favorite game, Six Degrees of Sylvester Stallone Separation!
Will Smith (2 Degrees of Separation)
For this first round, we’ll start with an early one. Way before anyone knew who Heidi Fleiss was or what cocaine could do to a perfectly healthy young adult, Stallone shared the screen with none other than Tom Sizemore! I know you’re thinking: “No way!” Way, sir! In 1989, Stallone and Sizemore dropped the soap and won over the hearts of America in the film Lock Up. Sizemore would later go on to work with Will Smith in the film Enemy of the State.
Bruce Willis, Eddie Murphy, Chuck Norris, and Al Pacino (2 Degrees of Separation)
Also sharing the Lock Up screen with Stallone before betraying his country is William Sadler, a.k.a. the poor man’s Robert Patrick, John Amos. Amos would go on to share the screen with Bruce Willis, Eddie Murphy, Chuck Norris, and “hoo-ah!” super star Al Pacino. Those are some of Hollywood’s finest actors, and they can all be linked back to Sly himself.
Walton Goggins (4 Degrees of Separation)
Did you know Sonny Landham was also in Lock Up? Who? Slap yourself — that’s Billy “that’s no man” from Predator! You know who else was in that film? Carl Weathers… who was in The Shield… which featured my personal favorite actor Michael Chiklis… who shared the screen with my second favorite actor, Walton Goggins… who was also in a Predator movie! Wow, went full circle on that one.
Michael Jordan (5 Degrees of Separation)
Does the name Darlanne Fluegel ring a bell? Don’t worry if it doesn’t; she was also in Lock Up, and previously shared the screen with Billy Crystal in Running Scared. No, not the one with Paul Walker — this was released in 1986. Billy Crystal went on to share the screen with NBA basketball star George Murisan… who went on to play for the Washington Bullets… whose minority share owner is Michael Jordan! How many action stars can be linked to an entire basketball team and a Space Jam star? Just one.
Batman (5 Degrees of Separation)
Now let’s turn our trucker hats backwards and get serious, because Stallone also shared the screen with Donald Sutherland in Lock Up. Donald fathered Kiefer Sutherland… who was in Lost Boys… directed by Joel Schumacher… who gave us the best film adaptation of the Dark Knight to date, Batman and Robin. Stallone and Batman — BOOM! Yes, that was a bat nipple suit explosion.
Well, there you have it. Hopefully you now realize just how many lives Stallone has touched throughout out his lavish Hollywood career. I leave you with one final separation. Sly’s Lock Up cellmate was former NFL star-turned-actor Frank McRae… who went on to star in Lightning Jack with Cuba Gooding, Jr… who went on to… You know what? Bad example.

I guess I need to re-watch Lock-Up as it may very well be the start of the SCU (Stallone Cinematic Universe) that involved various team-ups and eventually culminated in The Expendables. I haven’t seen it since I was like, 12 or something 😛
