Vidjagame Apocalypse 106 – The Games that Destroyed San Francisco

VGA106

San Francisco seems to get destroyed a lot more often than most other cities in fiction, and that includes games – so this week, we take a look at five games that wreaked the most destruction on VGA’s hometown. Then there’s some extended Bloodborne chat with Michael Grimm, a bit of excitement over Axiom Verge, and a look at the games you said made purchasing a new console or video card worthwhile.

Question of the Week

What was your favorite April Fool’s gag of 2015?

*NOTE* We’ve been getting some AMAZING donations lately but hardly anyone is attaching a name and the intended recipient of said donations. Please try to make note of which podcast the donation is going to so maybe we can get some new equipment and thank the right people for all their support.

Theme song by Matthew Joseph Payne. Break song is San Francisco as sung by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. Haunting and beautiful New Releases Theme by David B. Cooper.

  1. Bloodborne….more like Bloodboring! ayyyyyyy! I did play a few hours, I rented it from Redbox it didn’t grab me, it’s the slowness and the trial and error that gets me. DmC and other games like that can be very hard and even have 1 hit kill modes that I’ve beaten, but they’re fast and fun. TheSouls games always fail to grab me due to the slow pacing but that’s just me.

  2. An appearance by Grimm is just what I needed to get me through today! Looking forward to giving this a listen. 🙂

  3. Sucks about the employment lawsuit with the raccoon. Good thing I’m actually an employment litigation attorney! Questions welcome!

  4. Ann, a gurken is German for cucumbers/pickles. So your building was probably made by a old German pervert who thought no one would notice.

  5. Best april fools gag was that tom Wellington was to play superman in the new supergirl tv pilot.

  6. Anyone else catch nostalgia for X-play at “What if it snowed in san francisco? I still wanna now.
