Ever wonder what it’d look like if a show had 30+ cast members die overnight?
Yesterday, the news broke that Harry Shearer, voice of Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders and literally dozens of other Springfieldians, might be leaving The Simpsons after twenty-six years. I say “might” because this could of course all be some sort of shrewd contract negotiation, but it can’t be denied that even Shearer’s hypothetical departure is enough to bring the internet to its knees. Honestly, I always figured he’d be the first to go. He’s always been a rather cantankerous old grump regarding the show (whom I consider immensely talented and love dearly!) plus he’s also the oldest cast member. Figured it was only a matter of time before we added him to our Every Dead Simpsons Voice Actor list.
Just to name a few
Through The Simpsons, Spinal Tap, Le Show, and too much more to mention, there are a billion reason to love Harry Shearer, and I completely understand him no longer giving a fuck after almost three decades. He’s not dead, and he may not even quit the program, but I thought it might be worth celebrating the man’s contribution to the greatest show of all-time today. And because Fox has been so goddamned litigious over every Simpsons clip uploaded online, I’m forced to use embeds from my favorite Instagram account, SimpsonsIG. Enjoy all of this while you can. IMO, there’s not really a price you can put on Shearer’s involvement. To Fox/The Simpsons I say “Shut up, give him what he wants.” To Shearer I say, “How much is enough to continue giving life to these wonderful characters.”
Sorry, don’t wanna crash the site. Head on over to the next page for more.

Your forgetting the best quote.
I haven’t watched a new episode of the Simpsons in a little over a decade. But, for anyone still watching or just coming to the show this is a huge blow. an entire pillar yanked from under them. I honestly thought he had died. that title is… hmm guess that was on purpose eh?
