LaserTime’s WWE Elimination Chamber 2015 predictions: make yours too!

ec-predictions-header

The Elimination Chamber is WWE’s most dangerous structure; probably because it’s so difficult to predict who will win the matches held within it! Read Dave, Grimm, and Hank’s Elimination Chamber 2015 predictions, and then make your picks. The most accurate predictor gets their choice of wrestler theme song in an upcoming Cheap Popcast episode!

As we’ve been doing for awhile now, the reader who makes the most correct predictions gets to pick the song that plays at the conclusion of next month’s episode of Cheap Popcast! First, though, a recap of the LT gang’s Payback picks: of the three LaserTime contributors who submitted picks, Brett Elston earned his second consecutive victory with six out of eight correct predictions, one better than Dave and Hank, who tied with five. As for listener picks, four predictors tied with 6/8 correct prognostications, but two of the four fell out of the running due to not following the rules as one didn’t include a song and another neglected to pick a tie-breaking main event running time. Of the two who did submit times, a mere 16 seconds separated the winner and runner up. The winner? Sensationo, who chose Pirate Paul Burchill’s theme, which will play alongside Snugglejunction’s previous winning theme, Triple H’s “The Game” after our next episode’s segments. By the way, nobody picked the Ascension to win at Payback, and I bet nobody will this time, either!

Anywho, here’s how the prediction contest goes. The LaserTime gang is going to make picks in this here article, and then open up the replies to you awesome listeners. You will then pick a winner (or if you’re feeling frisky, a rare draw/no contest) for each match (don’t worry about getting the finish right, I’m just looking for winners, if any), and then, just in case there’s a tie for correct predictions, pick a running time for the final match listed (the presumed main event) as a tiebreaker.

What does the winning commenter get, though? Well, you can make your mark on the next PPV-themed Cheap Popcast episode by choosing a theme to close a segment. Pick the wrestler theme and include a YouTube URL to a wrestler’s theme alongside your predictions (including the running time of the final match listed) and I’ll give you a shout-out on next month’s episode. Got it? Good. Now, onto each LaserTimer’s predictions, with special Elimination Chamber makeovers.

DAVE‘S PREDICTIONS

1-NEVILLE VS. BO DALLAS

I think the WWE may finally be coming around on Bo Dallas. This is the first time he’s actually had an extended feud that’s culminated in a Pay-Per-View match. That’s a good first step, but I don’t think he’s due for a victory just yet. Neville needs his first non-kickoff PPV win more, and I think he’ll get it here.

2- WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE NEW DAY VS. THE LUCHA DRAGONS VS. TYSON KIDD AND CESARO VS. THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS VS. THE ASCENSION VS. LOS MATADORES (ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH)

I’d really like to see the Prime Time Players finally get the straps after three years teaming, and I think the time is also right to elevate the red-hot Lucha Dragons (who will shine with some Chamber spots). However, as far as heat goes, nobody’s getting bigger reactions than the New Day right now, so I say they retain.

3- DIVAS CHAMPION NIKKI BELLA VS. PAIGE VS. NAOMI (TRIPLE THREAT MATCH)

As hoss as she can be, every month Nikki has the belt is another that the Divas division stagnates. Due to the Bella’s wishy-washy face turn, I think the belt should go on a true heel (who will then job out to Charlotte). Naomi’s been a good hand for years, so I say she finally scores a title victory.

4- SHEAMUS VS. RYBACK VS. R-TRUTH VS. KING BARRETT VS. RUSEV VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER (ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH FOR THE VACANT INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP)

I guess I’m all about long-time talent finally getting elevated at Elimination Chamber. Ryback has looked pretty underwhelming on PPV since his shocking defection to Team Cena at Survivor Series (which led to his uneventful elimination), with only a victory against Kane at TLC to his credit, which was against Kane, c’mon. Rusev is probably out with an injury, so I say Ryback wins this one and his first belt after three years full-time in the WWE.

5- JOHN CENA VS. KEVIN OWENS (NON-TITLE MATCH)

After three consecutive months of clean victories over Rusev, John Cena has plenty of heat to spare, and I think a loss here is a good move. Owens looks like a million dollars right out of the gate, NXT’s stock is improved, and it lends a hint of doubt to Cenar’s weekly US Title defenses. Since KO’s callup will be happening sooner rather than later, I say Owens wins, with only a modest amount of chicanery.

6- WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION SETH ROLLINS VS. DEAN AMBROSE

Allow me to put on my fantasy booking hat for a second. If Ambrose had pulled out a surprise Foley-esque win at Payback, this could be an epic follow-up where Seth pulls out every underhanded trick in the book, ultimately stealing his title back. At that point, Ambrose sets out to win the MitB briefcase in order to steal back the belt just as cheaply. I guess they could still do the latter two parts of that story, so I say Rollins gets the uneventful and cheat-filled victory that puts Ambrose in a rage to capture Money in the Bank.

Up next… Grimm’s picks!

  1. Cena loses for that horrible photoshop on his face… god damn that’s amateur. Overlay, amateur dodge and burn, liquefy, shitty lighting. Jesus man I live in CT they should hire me to take that shot. Seriously, highlights are blown, wtf, the WWE photogs are usually better than that. Kevin got the real photographer and editing house, contre jour lighting and decent photoshop, overlay D&B grime done right.

  2. Neville
    Lucha Dragons
Naomi because they didnt spend $$$ on those light up boots for nothin
    Sheamus
Cena by DQ. I want to see Owens win clean then an apron powerbomb that writes Cena off for a few months but seriously i think the best we’ll get is Cena by DQ after a chair mauling or something. If Cena goes over clean i’ll lose whatever little faith i have left in wwe…
And finally Rollins at 23 minutes, wouldnt be surprised to see Owens involved at some point

I pick the Hero song from the Lex Express promo video, because it sounds like a south park song and its INCREDIBLE

  3. Hope I’m not too late:

    1) Neville
    2) New Day
    3) Paige
    4) Sheamus
    5) Kevin Owens
    6) Seth Rollins

  4. Best Debut Ever. KO looked like an absolute beast! That package piledriver tease was just cruel though
