Cape Crisis #143 – DC’s Newest Fan

Cape143

Henry becomes DC’s biggest fan (for this week at least), Chris has played more Arkham Knight than anyone (on the show), and Dave read more than just The Walking Dead (kinda)! It’s an exciting new era for Cape Crisis after these shenanigans were funded by everyone on the Laser Time Patreon

Now, don’t forget to pre-order the games of E3 via LT’s Amazon links.

Also, Laser Time did a ton of exciting E3 videos this week on our YouTube channel. That includes us watching over 8 hours of press conferences and discussing some big ass trailers and reveals. Here’s a preview of the best “Oh Shit” moments…

Additionally, if you’ve yet to check them out, Laser Time has new-ish commentaries for The Avengers and Iron Man 3 available on the Laser Time Bandcamp page, along with many others. Pick ’em up for $1.99 – or more 😉 – if you want to help out while Henry is in-between jobs. All the purchases the last two months have been great, but if you’ve been delaying, now is the time to get them.

Cape Crisis #143 Question: What actor did the best job of playing a live action superhero?

  1. Marvel won’t play up the fact he’s a mutant…for now….he’ll probably actually be revealed to be a long distant cousin to the Inhumans.

  2. I also tried to get into DC this week with Justice League 41, but it was kinda incomprehensible as a jumping on point. I did like Miracle Man and would submit him for superhero spotlight. I think i’m going to read some miracle man bc I couldn’t get a hold of the justice league story other then “Darksied is coming.” But I made an effort, now I can go back to reading Darth Vader in peace, content that I’m not to much of a marvel fanboy.

  3. Just finished up Arkham Knight this afternoon, and I’ve gotta say (without spoiling anything) I was surprised at how deep some of the references cut. Some of the side quests had characters I’ve never seen adapted in other media, and I was never expecting them to. Look forward to hearing the gang’s thoughts on the game in the next couple weeks, seeing as its comics related and all.

  4. Wow. This is probably the most enthusiastic episode to ever appear on the Laser Time network, even more so that Bonus Time #1. You guys sound really happy.

As for Dave’s homework, might I recommend my QOTW response and have Dave read some Blacksad?

  5. How much do I have to donate to have H-E-N-E-R-E-Y dial down the phony enthusiasm? Or to turn down the overpowering video game music? Or to get Antista to stop interrupting?

    1. Sorry friend, the enthusiasm is all real and can’t be bought off!

(I’ll try to lower the game music next time though)

  6. Great show Henry. I’ve been listening for a couple years and I just became one of your Patreon supporters. Best of luck. Cape Crisis and Lasertime are two of my favorite podcasts and I’m glad to see you’re getting a lot of support. Looking forward to more great shows. ~Travis~

  7. Well, he aint no “superhero”, but J.K. Simmons’ portrayal of J. Jonah Jameson is the pinnacle of comic characters come to life.
