VGMpire 100 is live, Rocktober 2015 imminent

For those of you who don’t frequent the VGMpire site, we recently celebrated its 100th episode with a grab bag of folks’ favorite game tunes. With great jams and guests aplenty, it’s well worth a listen!

Check it out here

Beyond celebrating a podcasting milestone of 100 episodes, I wanted to say THANKYA for all the support over the past four years (!). What began as a fun li’l side project quickly became one of my favorite parts of the week. From the recording process to seeing y’all’s responses in the comments, it’s truly a lot of fun to work on and I’m glad so many ppl get to experience (or rediscover) these great pieces of music.

And with that in mind… it’s almost time for Rocktober 2015! The show is usually bi-weekly, save for each (R)Oc(k)tober where we GET WILD and post an episode EACH WEEK. The “bit” to each Rocktober is that the shows are centered around a series that can’t possibly fit into one episode…. or even two! Past Rocktobers include:

2012 (Castlevania parts 1 2 3 4)

2013 (Final Fantasy parts 1 2 3 4)

2014 (Pokemon parts 1 2 3 4 5)

What will this year be??? (You won’t have to wait too long to find out…)

  1. Subtle hint for a Wild ARMs-themed Rocktober?! I swear to take my vitamins and say my prayers if that would happen…

  2. If I may harbor a guess, I think this will be the year of Shin Megami Tensei and all of its spin offs. You get two Persona episodes, and then two for everything else. Get Anne Lewis on for SMT IV and you can hopefully easily stack a month of shows.

  3. I keep the previous Rocktober episodes permanently on my phone. Can’t wait to find out what this years series is gonna be.

  4. Rocktober is something I always look forward to. Can’t wait to see what games we get this year. Maybe mario in honor of 30 years? NES forgotten games in general? Metroid? the wait will kill me.

  5. thanks for the amazing work. I’ve been listening for about 2 years and really love the show, and look forward to the periodic installments. I’ve recommended it to a few people as well. You should run a patreon sometime, i’d at least like to throw you a few bucks for the good entertainment i’ve derived from the show.
