Take that, Triple H’s sledgehammer!
Fantastic in-ring moves and athleticism is one thing, but wrestling wouldn’t be half as entertaining without a great story backing up that action. WWE’s history is overflowing with memorable feuds, and it looks like WWE 2K16 will explore some of them. 2K pulled together an impressive number of superstars for this haunting bonfire spot, though you’ll see not all rivalries are created equal.
No offense to Paige, but the prospect of seeing her against Nikki Bella in-game isn’t all that rousing – though maybe I’m just a little annoyed that Sasha Banks, Bayley, and the rest of the Four Horsewomen aren’t in the game. Also, I like that Mankind is getting a spotlight here, but is he even the fourth person you think of for Stone Cold feuds? Oh well, I do enjoy the prospect of being able to play as Sting and change history with him beating Triple H at WrestleMania 31, a show I totally attended.
The game is out next Tuesday, so we’ll see how well it all comes together then. Until then, maybe you could start a bonfire of your own to burn things that remind you of your rivals. I’m going to burn the AMC Theaters shirt of the guy who beat me for a promotion in 2003.
