Want to see what you’re missing out on at Patreon? Join us at 6pm Pacific for live commentating on the most Reagan Era slice of Americana there is: The 1986 blockbuster, Top Gun!
If you aren’t a part of the Laser Time Patreon (and you REALLY should be a part of it), then you might not know we made a change to the Monday Night Movie commentaries! In case you hadn’t heard: From now on, the live stream of the movie commentary will be open to whoever can show up on time (check out the May movie schedule), though the archive/MP3 version of it will remain exclusive to our wonderful Patreon members (and did we mention that as little as $5 a month on the Laser Time Patreon is 100% worth it?!?!). So, what are we going to be watching, live, RIGHT HERE at 6pm Pacific time? Released thirty years ago this week, it’s Tom Cruise’s second gayest film (after Interview With A Vampire) – that’s right, we’re watching Top Gun…
Released on May 16, 1986 (30 years to the day) Top Gun made Tom Cruise a star, and gave the MTV generation its own war film. Not only do you get to see Maverick, Goose, and Iceman play oily volleyball, but there’s also a bunch of planes flying around, and one of the corniest sex scenes ever. All set to the rocking-est tunes of 1986. You know you wanna watch along with us!.
You can buy the Digital Download on Amazon (and Prime members can stream it for FREE) – or you can find a less legal way to see it, but that’s just what those damn Russians WANT. However you do it, ride into the Danger Zone with us here at 6pm Pacific to watch along on the Twitch stream below! And if you’re a Patreon supporter, you can download the MP3 archive the day after the stream!
In the meantime, get a taste of how these streams go by watching a previous freebie – maybe it’ll inspire you to jump on the Patreon Bandcamp.
