The biggest sci-fi movie of 2016 and the most anticipated JRPG of 2017 headline a packed week. Read on for the biggest new items on Amazon this week!

There’s nothing worth checking out on Laser Time or buying on Amazon this week… April Fools! Yes, this is actually a pretty big week on both sides of this article. Here at LT, we have our own April Fools Thirty Twenty Ten, a new Laser Time about Ad Wars, a Fantasy Fight of baseball players to celebrate the new MLB season, and plenty of awesome upcoming stuff like a new WrestleMania Cheap Popcast on the Laser Time Patreon and an episode of Vidjagame Apocalypse that will surely feature plenty of Persona 5 talk. In terms of Amazon stuff, we’ve got a new freakin Star Wars movie, a new freakin Persona game, and plenty more fun stuff to peruse. If you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber, remember that you’ll save 20% off all new games and pre-orders unless otherwise noted. Also, even though we’ve collected some great games and movies you don’t have to buy any of these products to help Laser Time. Simply buy anything on Amazon after clicking one of these links and you’ll help out LT. Anywho, now onto this week’s best new stuff!

Persona 5
There’s a reason Final Fantasy 15 was so bro-mantic; some of the most critically-acclaimed RPGs as of late have focused on young groups of friends bonding just as much as they’re battling. Case in point; the Persona series, which really hit the zeitgeist with the PlayStation Vita release of Persona 4: Golden. That a PlayStation 2 port was lauded by many shows how strong the series is, but Persona 5 adds the power of PlayStation 4 to the franchise’s already-beloved storytelling and combat. P5 has already been getting rave reviews, and you can expect the JRPG to be a major point of discussion on this week’s Vidjagame Apocalyse, perhaps with one of those reviewers! Anywho, if you have Amazon Prime, you can get 20% off Persona 5, giving you even more JRPG goodness per dollar!

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition
And now on the complete opposite end of the gaming spectrum is this remastered combo-focused first-person shooter that featured an extended riff on shooting people in the dick. And you know what? It’s almost as good as the highly-lauded JRPG focused on interpersonal relationships. Back in 2011, Bulletstorm was a bona-fide Game of the Year contender that mixed Tony Hawk-level trick-focused gameplay with solid shooting. It was already a damn good experience on last-gen consoles, but the higher resolution and framerate afforded by the likes of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One should really let the dick-shooting shine, even if the gameplay is well over five years old. Bulletstorm is already slightly discounted that a standard new release, but you can save even more by using Amazon Prime and getting 20% the dick-shooting fun!

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Look, we all LOVE Force Awakens, but it’s very steeped in similar story beats; a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed Force-powered newb assembles a motley crew of friends, and the wizened leader is struck down by the big bad. Also, the giant evil headquarters is destroyed. Rogue One, on the other hand, is unlike anything we’ve seen in the Star Wars cinematic universe. Sure, it’s another motley crew, but they’re not destined to stick together for a trilogy or more so the connection to these characters is completely different, yet each becomes endearing in their own way. I don’t know why I’m typing any more about this since y’all have already seen it, but the Blu-ray release brings special features that should shine a light on new elements of last year’s Star Wars movie, which is in the running for an April Monday Night Movie!

Office Christmas Party
As I said when Bad Santa 2 hit Blu-ray a few months back, I’m not sure who’s hankering for an Xmas themed movie on home video at the beginning of April, but a few folks who absolutely loved this star-studded party movie can pick OCP up now while the rest of the world can wait to get the disc for $7 less come November. I’ll be one of them, because for as little as this movie made an impact at theaters, I’ll definitely check out a comedy featuring a cast comprised of Jason Bateman, Jennifer Aniston, Kate McKinnon, Vanessa Bauer, and much more!

Tooth stylists, unite! Back when I was a teenager freebasing Comedy Central specials, I already had a deep love for standup, but Punchline made my love grow even deeper. Even though the standup in the movie isn’t super-great, the heart exhibited by Sally Field, Tom Hanks, and John Goodman make for a pretty inspirational film that’ll make you chuckle a few times, too.
