Question of the Week: What is your favorite gaming urban legend?

  1. QotW: My favorite Gaming Urban Legend is how to get MewTwo in Pokemon Red/Blue. You were supposed to surf onto that area where the Boat was, but before it left or something and move the truck on the island. I spent countless hours trying to do it…only finding out years later it was fake as hell.

  2. QotW: Back in Kansas, we would occasionally see this older guy at the Aladdin’s Castle. He was always playing Tekken. The rumor was that he was some kind of nomadic Tekken Mr Miyagi. He would roam from one arcade to another, teaching kids to be really really good at Tekken – only ever staying in one place long enough to train a local successor. Leaderboards all over Kansas were dominated by him and his students. Some say he’s even been to Japan…where they MADE TEKKEN!

In hindsight, it was probably just a stinky grownup that was good at Tekken.
