  1. I would say SHODAN is a great villain, especially in System Shock 2. The fact that the evil A.I from the first System Shock has been basically influencing your every action up to this point is such a great reveal. Shodan’s voicework is masterful gives off a memorable feeling of unease constantly throughout the game. Which is another point, this A.I that you will almost undoubtedly have to fight at one point is constantly with you throughout the entire game, and is only using you to further her own means. It makes their defeat *as comedic as the last cutscene is* all the more satisfying.

  2. QotW: Bowser is probably my favorite villain though mostly in the more nuanced versions in the various Mario RPG games. I enjoyed the glimpses into his inner life those games provided instead of just kidnapping Peach for generic evil reasons. It also helps that they made him more comedic.

  3. I get the point you’re trying to make, Chris; anything that was popular and took people’s attention away from god led dumb fundamentalists to think that any activity that didn’t involve the church would lead to the devil. You just sounded like a complete fucking moron trying to explain it. Maybe lay off the booze the next time you try to get philosophical.
