This Week’s Top Amazon releases – Much More Managable Edition

Oh, don’t even bother. There’s nothing here for you this week…

Jaws: Ultimate Predator
With a license this good, there’s no way this budget-priced Wii game can fail! Okay, let’s not bother weighing in on the quality of a game we’ve all never played. Instead, if any of you remember our old the shenannigans over at GR, Jaws Unleashed became the whole office’s guiltiest of pleasures. Mikel even took time to write to up the sharky splendor loooooong after the game had come out. One of you has to bite the bullet and buy this fucker just to let the rest of us know what’s up.

The Smurfs
I’m terribly sorry for putting this here. No really, I am! But I, I just… GODDAMMIT, I just know I’m going to end up buying this thing. And I don’t even have kids! Curse this stupid affection of all things 80s and animated!! It’s going to fucking ruin me, I tell you! Speaking of which, check out A Cartoon Christmas for 25 straight days of animated Xmas coverage! *kill me*

Disney Game Bundle (Pure, Split/Second, and Tron: Evolution)
I have no idea where the hell this thing came from, but with the exception of Tron: Evolution, these are fantastic games. No, this isn’t my Disney bias talking… although I did play all the way through Tron in spite of hating 50% of it (It’s TRON – I had to!) Pure and Split/Second are some of the greatest, most underrated racing games produced this generation. Yep, for a time it looked as if Disney was going to carve out a respectable place in the interactive medium, but the promising developers behind these titles have all been shitcanned The House of Mouse.  Why not validate their time on this earth and download all three games for $23?!

Smallville: The Complete Tenth Season
10th Season?! You know, it really shocks me that something like this can exist for a decade without me ever once setting eyes on it. Not that it needs my validation, but I do love me my Supes so I’m just glad it found an audience. Did any of you like Smallville?! Wait… don’t answer that. There’s only room in my life to catch up on one low budget WB/UPN era show, and Buffy has  already assumed that slot.

30 Minutes or Less
Wish I hadn’t missed out on this one. I’m a big fan of the entire cast and enjoyed the hell out of Zombieland, the director’s previous film. Wonder if I could strap a bomb to someone and get them to write up some Laser Time posts?!

An Idiot Abroad: Series 1 & 2
If you’re the least bit famialiar with Ricky Gervais and his podcast, you’ve no doubt basked in the comedic brilliance that illuminates from Karl Pilkington celestial head. I haven’t seen the show yet, but if this soft spoken simpleton is half as amusing traveling to foriegn countries as he is on mic, I’d buy it sight unseen.

Our Idiot Brother
Another comedy I didn’t see in theaters. Is anybody starting to notice theme here? IS ANYBODY EVEN READING THESE THINGS?! One observation I’d like to get out there after looking over the talented cast… has anyone else found themselves attracted to actresses with comedic talent? Or is that just some personal issue I’m going to have to work out for myself? Hello…

The Muppets Soundtrack
Saw this last week and I gotta say, it’s one of the most satisfying experiences I’ve ever had in the theaters in like the last five years. It’s funny, heartfelt and earnestly sincere… I simply can’t praise it enough. Part of the films success is due to the phenomenal soundtrack, featuring classic Muppet tunes with new music penned by Flight of the Concords‘ Bret McKenzie. See the movie and you’ll know what I mean.

  1. I’ll get the Muppets soundtrack now seeing as I have to wait another 3 fucking months to see the film! Also I can’t say anything about the seccond series of Idiot Abroad, but the first series was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in for ages

  2. I didn’t realize they’d already done a second set of Idiot Abroad. It would be a better show with less Ricky Gervais, I think. He’s so obnoxious, Karl’s way more interesting.

  3. Haha yeah my theater movie going percentage has dropped as well. Netflix, Bluray and the internet are working out for me.
