The Top 5 Tomorrowland Games

The best video game appearances of Disneyland’s futuristic playground…

Man, I can really go off on Tomorrowland. Despite all its flaws, it’s probably my favorite area in any Disney park. And thanks to Brad Bird making a 2015 movie about it, Laser Time is¬†essentially free to expound upon every single piece of its esoteric past. Last week, we looked at Walt Disney’s original Tomorrowland animated offerings, so this week, we figured why not move the timeline of Tomorrowland way up to an era the mythic man never lived to see: VIDEO GAMES!

  1. After going through all this recent content, I’m completely fine saying that Tomorrowland is the coolest thing of all time. This video is 100% cool as well, even if I’m still waiting with bated breath for an official opinion.

  2. The only one of those games I actually played was Epic Mickey, and that stands as one of my most forgotten Wii games sadly. But I’ve been to Disney World several times (thanks retired grandparents) so this video was a nice virtual look at the past.

  3. This is probably my favorite LT video so far, please make more like this. Boy, I suffered through the godawful controls for the Kinect Disneyland game for hours just to be able to experience the layout of the parks from home. All of the mini-games were terrible, except for the couple of conducting games where you can conduct the Tiki-Room birds, or the busts singing Grim Grinning Ghosts. Would still own the game if there was controller support. Epic Mickey is one of my favorite games of all time, with it really getting me into old Disney stuff. Picked it up again recently as I sold it along with my Wii, though I still have the amazing special edition disc with the remastered cartoons.

  4. Expected to see the NES Adventures game. Was not disappointed. I recall enjoying it at the time but looking back I think it may have been one of the worst Capcom Disney games…..which was still pretty damn good by Nintendo standards.
    Great job.

  5. Love the video Chris, but why must you taunt me with Disney! Just got back from my trip to the World and I’m already getting that Disney itch again, plan on going back again in the fall and repping a lasertime shirt.

Also that Kinect game almost made my buy one just for that and If someone made an vr walk through the parks(either with a 360 degree camera or just 3d modeling) I’d buy steam vr/google cardboard/occulus/etc and any other hardware needed in a jiffy.

  6. Just to be clear, I played Epic Mickey to completion, really enjoyed it despite the controls and low definition, and cried at the end.

    The sequel was garbage, sadly.

  7. Great top 5. I agree with Epic Mickey but that game was a bitch to play through and I finally gave up.

  8. I get big-time feels at Tomorrowland, too. I’m only familiar with the one in Orlando, and the people mover ain’t defunct there yet.

    Two questions:

Is there any Tomorrowland representation in any of the Kingdom Hearts?

Did anybody see the new movie yet?
