The Monday Night Movie March Schedule

We enter a very super-powered month of films, with a bit of Coens to go with it!

We hope you had a fun Leap Day, because March isn’t messing around and neither are the Monday Night Movies. Our weekly viewing party is when our lovely Patreon pals can watch classic films with us, like in past commentaries for Terminator 2, Back to The Future, and Power Rangers: The Movie. We select a different film each week and live stream our fan commentary every Monday at 6PM Pacific, exclusively for Laser Time Patreon members who pledge as little as $5 a month. BTW, that paltry $5 a month also nets you a bonus weekly podcast, the first season of Talking Simpsons, and much, much more, so why not treat yourself?

There’s only four Mondays in March, but we make them count with a couple of memorable comic book films, as well as celebrating the anniversary of one of the Coen Brothers’ best film…

Turning 20 this month is one of the best movies ever made by Joel and Ethan Coen, and that’s really saying something. This stripped down, frozen noir tale of kidnappings and murder inspired a great TV show, but it’s the film that remains the best version. You can even watch along on Hulu if you’ve got a membership!

MAN OF STEEL – March 14th

Yes, the time has finally come to watch one of the most controversial films in Laser Time history. With the sequel hitting theaters the following Friday, it’s time to watch the film that introduced us all to the Superman of today, for better or worse. Will we think we were too hard on it? Will we be vindicated? Will it put us to sleep? Find out soon… Even better, this one will be airing live to everyone, so tell your friends!!!

This will be the Monday after many will have seen Ben Affleck in the role of Batman, as well as watching the second season of Daredevil, making this the perfect time to revisit the *ahem* imperfect Daredevil film of 2003. And this is the Theatrical Version, because it’s more entertainingly bad, and also shorter!

Just as we did all the previous months, we’re doing the usual community choice, and with no guidelines either. Sure, last month’s choice via the Laser Time Patrons in the $10 tier was dominated by a couple of high profile deaths, but hopefully we’ll be able to have some more normal, less morbid, choices this time around.

We hope this crop of Monday Night Movies got you jazzed for February. And just to make it clear, if anything as big as the death of David Bowie happens, we reserve the right to change this schedule on the fly. Hopefully it never comes to that though. Again, if you want to join in, donate to our Patreon at the $5 level. Just to have it all clear in bold text…

MONDAY NIGHT MOVIES begin every MONDAY @ 6:00 PM PACIFIC TIME (unless stated otherwise) exclusively for Patreon members at the $5 level

    1. Also, I’m going to plant the seeds in your minds to vote for Inception for community choice now that Leo finally has his Oscar.

  1. I swear to the wrestling god, JBL, if we don’t watch Ready to Rumble on the 28th, a week before WrestleMania, I am gonna give all you candy asses a Stone Cold Stunner. If you smell, suck it, Austin 3:16, you’re fired, eeeeeeeeeeeeever, Kennedy… Kennedy, bah gawd, puppies, etc.

  2. This should be an awesome month of commentaries! Although I was hoping for the Director’s Cut of Daredevil, but I’m sure Brett & Hank will discuss why that version is better during the failings of the theatrical version. And either way, this will be fun.
Jeeze though, Man of Steel will be hard to get through again – even with y’all.

  3. Coming from a place of love, not anger:
Henry’s Twitter account is like Ricky Gervais twitter account, except replace atheism w/ how Superman doesn’t kill or how MOS sucks.

    1. And as someone who enjoyed Man of Steel, I’m looking forward to Lasertime MOS commentary. It will be very entertaining.

  4. YES Man of Steel! Fargo is going to be interesting. After all those mediocre comic book movies I think I’m going to throw Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man into the community choice vote.
