  1. Antista’s seeming surprise at his raft of lost followers after the Batman v. Superman release is at least mildly comic. It’s almost as if it was an arrogant and terrible idea to tell everyone that they didn’t actually like something despite their assertions to the contrary.

    1. You ain’t wrong. I only stand buy the idea that we shouldn’t stand by garbage just because of who’s in it or because of what we hoped it’d be. Blind faith is a dangerous thing, especially when, uh… two of his movies fucking sucked to the point of being offensive.

But seriously, I hate implying anyone shouldnt like just about anything, so I feel ya. But these movies are bad, Bad, BAD on so many objective levels and I can’t help but feel that anyone who truly cares about these characters wanting WB to move forward with this icky fucking tone. These characters have offered nothing but hope through the darkness for almost a goddamn century and these movies ONLY CARE ABOUT DARKNESS.

      1. Without a doubt, this flick looks like a relentless dirge. I won’t be seeing it anytime soon. Your point was excellent, about listening to the joyous heartsong of the original 1978 film’s theme song and recognizing how discordant that is with the curtain of bleak that is this new film.

  2. I can’t imagine an age where I would show my son, now 4, BvS. Instead I decided to show him the Justice League cartoon. He loved it and is already talking about going as Batman and Superman for Halloween.

Bruce Timm and Pual Dini should have been the brain trust for the DC movie world.

  3. Ask Hank: What do you have to say about the claim that Superman is an inherently boring/lame character? With the movie out I’m seeing this get brought up again – I even heard it from Dan Ryckert and Jeff Gerstmann on Giant Bomb – and I’d love to hear your thoughts as a Comic Authority™ on the matter.

  4. Wonder Woman is so much more interesting than Batman and Superman combined. There is a lot of potential to make Wonder Woman a respectable movie franchise.

  5. Justice League Unlimited has forever cemented Wonder Woman and Batman as my OTP. DC does a great job with WW in their animated movies and shows, and I’m really hoping her movie turns out ok.

  6. Ask Hank:

Apologies if you’ve addressed. What’s your level of interest in the new Black Panther series out….today!
