  1. Only because you openly asked the listeners to correct you if you were wrong about your definition of ballast, the term refers to “material that is used to provide stability to a vehicle or structure,” Hank. Add that to your database, Database.

Love that the podcast is sprawling beyond its initial half-hour running time. We demand MORE Talking Simpsons! More Talking Simpsons!

    1. Don’t worry, at this rate they’ll be averaging at least an hour by the start of season 4. Not complaining one bit about that either.

  2. Hate to be that guy Hank, but ballast is actually essentially a counterweight used to achieve more optimal movement (usually only in a vehicle) by changing the overall weight or center of gravity of the thing it’s in.

  3. The extended episodes have been a real treat. When it comes to Talking Simpsons, I’m a real size queen. Keep up the great work.

  4. I can’t believe you guys skipped the “Dear God not again!” scene. Along with Homer too excited to dial its one of my all time favourites.

I’m interested to hear that you guys never did soapbox racing. As a kid in the UK I just assumed it was something every American child did.

  5. “I’m confronting the idea of INEVITABLY being a father…” – Chris

Chris, do you have an announcement to make?

  6. I’m a couple years younger than you guys and I saw a real live Soap Box Derby,, somewhere in Pennsylvania in the early 90s.

I also seem to remember neighborhood kids building soap box racers with their dads but that may have blended together with some TV show I saw (maybe this one?)……

  7. This is hardly Simpsons related but the Black and White video stuff, the KKK Rules and so on written on the walls/windows was added digitally later (not the first time shown) to better explain what was going on.
