The Best Surprises of 2019 (So Far) – Vidjagame Apocalypse 320

E3 made a big splash this week, but we were too busy actually being there to record a show about it. We’ll be back with E3 impressions next week; in the meantime, please accept this short, Top 5-only show we recorded earlier, in which Mikel, Chris, and Matt look at five games that far exceeded our expectations this year (or just suddenly appeared with zero build-up to knock our socks off).

Question of the Week: What’s a Japanese-developed series or game you’d like to see a western developer tackle? (And which developer?)
(Yep, it’s the same as last week. We’ll read the answers on next week’s show!)

  1. Ninja theory doing a God Hand game would be amazing to see. Having the imaginative minds behind Enslaved and DmC (2013) could really take the already quirky game God Hand to some outlandish and interesting places.
