In-Game Instruments – Vidjagame Apocalypse 373

The Last of Us Part II does a lot of things well, but one thing it’s particularly good at is simulating a guitar with a touchpad. So we grabbed Jorge Albor of Experience Points to help us pay tribute with a look at some of the coolest musical instruments to appear in non-musical games, after which we’ll properly delve into The Last of Us Part II, as well as EA news, Mixer shutting down, and your favorite E3-ish announcements so far.

  1. Denno if this game would count for your top 5, but HarmoKnight by GameFreak for the 3DS is a rhythmic platformer…the “instrument” the hero uses is a musical note…it’s not too bad and made headlines back then because it was a non Pokemon game from GF…which was rare.

  2. I’d say “Night of the Consumers” (from the’s bundle for Racial Justice and Equality.) It’s at least the most accurate portrayal of MY 1st half of 2020. “Buy another one, Morty! Consume, Morty! Nobody’s out there shopping with this fucking virus!” Yeah right! Being an essential worker of a grocery store, earning less a week than my out-of-work brother, (shout-out to Meijer workers in the Midwest listening to this on the job.) The consumers, are Karen and Ken’s with unrelenting thirst for customer service that prowl the aisles and are the “jump scare monsters” of the game. I can say during the initial toilet paper supply surge this game was nearly a 1-to-1 of my waking nightmare. Runner up goes to the ‘Big Tiddy Goth Girlfriend Simulator’ which is free, and also on as well as Steam?
