  1. Atlantis was huge for me growing up, in sort of a flash-in-the-pan way. I was really into the character designs, was super excited to hand out Atlantis-themed valentines in class— sorta fell into the “lost city” mold I loved so much. Also good representation for skinny smart wimps w/ glasses. Diana’s right though, it barely sticks together, and even though I rewatched it not that long ago, I can’t remember a thing.

  2. Chris, to give you some idea of what was happening during “cowboy times” here is a handy little chart: https://i.imgur.com/Lrtc2Gb.jpg

What film versions of Robin Hood have you watched? Not ones that you have liked, just which versions have you seen?

Robin Hood: The Myth, the Man, the Movie with Pierce Bronson. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ND7O9yzjQ0

Given that the 80’s are now 31 to 41 years behind us, does there exist a comprehensive list of who was using cocaine in the 1980’s? I always hear jokes about how cocaine explains many crazy 80’s films but I wonder if there is any truth to it?

Natalie Cole. Unforgettable. I’ll always associate it with this SNL sketch that seems to be scrubbed from the internet: https://snltranscripts.jt.org/91/91ocole.phtml

What is your favorite Willie Nelson cover? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLk4nSiW5zw

Timothy McVeigh executed. I feel like he is now largely forgotten and that makes me happy.

Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India was the very first Indian film I ever watched. What was the first Indian film you ever saw? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSIGQ0YkFxs

I’ve always felt that Atlantis the Lost Empire and Treasure Planet would make fantastic live-action Disney reboots, far better than Aladdin or Beauty and the Beast or other live-action reboots that really gained nothing from being live-action https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvR9Zdp74fY

Laura Croft Tomb Raider film. I remember reading a review at the time saying it was a great idea to put Angelina Jolie in a Laura Croft outfit but every other decision the film made was garbage.

What is the “reality TV” that you would most have liked to done, not to win any prize money, but just for the sheer joy of doing what you watched the contestants do? Because I remember watching Fear Factor and thinking that I would _pay them_ to do most of the stuff they were competing for (but I was a huge adrenaline junkie in my 20’s).

There was a black and white and silent version of Raiders of the Lost Ark that was done by Soderbergh but it appears that it has been deleted from his website: https://extension765.com/blogs/soderblog/raiders
Does anyone know where I can find a copy of that?

Broadway. It’s not just for gays anymore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BHyfYiBt5o

Book of Mormon best musical. It deserved to win. I often think about this song when I encounter a egomaniacal famous person: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njHiUggTjRo

Alice Madness Returns. Have you ever wanted to watch a game but not play it? What’s the chief factor in making you interested enough to watch but not interested enough to play? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHH8HRtjl-o

Duke Nukem Forever. I got more enjoyment from fake reviews and online mocking of the game’s development cycle than I ever would from the game itself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kj-O-FnpGjQ

I’m pretty sure my friends and I finally broke down and recorded the music video for Right Now and paused to read the text, which was not easy to do on a VHS, just so we could finally read all the text. I almost feel like this was the last HUGE music video where everyone was talking about it but that could be a local thing. What is the last music video you remember being a cultural phenomenon? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEI7cTBVr2A
